- **How transfers work**: Each device runs a small local server. The other device connects over the same WiFi network using mDNS auto-discovery — no pairing codes, no manual IP setup, no internet round-trip.
- **What is preserved**: Original resolution, EXIF metadata, GPS coordinates, capture date, Live Photo motion component, ProRAW / DNG bit depth, ProRes video.
- **What is not required**: Apple ID, Google account, cloud storage, USB or Lightning cable, iTunes, third-party drivers.
